Michelin Junior Bike, May 24 2008

Michelin Junior BikeA cycling day success. The street block of Commercial, Union, Cottage and Maple were closed down Saturday morning as age cohorts from 5 years old and up pedaled the route. 400 hundred registrants! Hundreds more applauding! Free lemon-yellow helmets, snacks, bike tune-ups, prizes, thanks to Michelin. Big thanks to all behind-the-scenes and on-the-scenes volunteers, from the organizing committee to the traffic controllers. Great day, lots of fun!.

New Year's Eve, 2007The CAO was out and about Town during the snowstorm on New Years Eve, December 31, 2007. As you'll see, he met up with some of public works crew working hard to keep up the snow clearing efforts.

Hydroelectric Dam - February Flow at Factorydale Dam

Hydroelectric DamThe CAO and the Superintendent of the Berwick Electric Commission took some photos of the water flow at the Factorydale dam, February 15, 2008, to help out engineers designing plans for some remedial work later in spring. The first shot below is the surge tank, a device which takes up water when the flow is too high for the generator to handle.

New fire hall construction underway

New Fire Hall ConstructionThe construction of the new fire hall is underway, on time, as planned. Steve MacMahon, an officer in the Berwick and District Volunteer Fire Department, has started a photo bank to document the history of the build from start to finish.
