Public Input Meeting on RCMP Pilot Initiative
Joint Initiative of Berwick and Kings County to Launch RCMP 18-Month Pilot Project

Councils for the Town of Berwick and the Municipality of the County of Kings are jointly considering a collaborative initiative to restructure the deployment of RCMP policing. The geographic area under review is the western region of Kings County, from Berwick to the Annapolis/Kings border. The project, if approved, would be rolled out as a pilot project of 18-months, followed by a rigorous evaluation of its strengths and weaknesses.
We seek constructive input from Berwick's residents on this joint policing model, the details of which will be fully explained at the public meeting, Monday May 30th, 7pm, Berwick Fire Hall. We will invite questions, comments, criticism, and suggestions.
The Municipality of the County of Kings will host its public input meeting on the matter in Kingston, at a date soon to be announced.
Policing is critical component of local municipal services and budgets so we encourage attendance. We want to listen.
